When I hear the words ‘regal’ and ‘Italian’, I tend to think back to medieval days (no, I wasn’t alive then, thank you) and ponder the great feasts that kings and queens would throw for their court and (if they were lucky) their loyal subjects. Medieval courts were dangerous places, full of archers and assassins just waiting for an opportune moment.
Luckily, with some of today’s beautiful Italian wood bar stools, we can have all of the regality with none of the paranoia. Since some of my favorite restaurants have traditional Italian decor, you can trust me when I say that the furnishings need to fit the theme of the place. It’s no good to have frescoes and grape vines if your tables and chairs are unremarkable. You don’t have to have all carved wood and stone; even contemporary cafe tables will look great if they’re done right. We’re talking a total immersive experience, people!
And so, I went on a quest for fine Italian wood bar stools to go with some of the lovely modern cafe furniture I’ve seen lately, and I came up with the Regal Italian Wood Barstool 2593 from The Bar Essentials. It’s got high quality wood lovingly polished to a glossy finish, available in cherry, walnut, mahogany, or natural finishes. The seat cushion can be upholstered in fabric or vinyl in many different colors. I think a walnut or mahogany finish with a sapphire blue chenille or velvet upholstery would look especially regal. The criss-crossed work on the back of the stool is also a nice touch.
And while you’re ordering new furniture, don’t neglect your reception area chairs. The Regal Italian has matching chairs that would be just right for the job.
